NOTES ON THE NAME "POOT" AND DUTCH NAMING TRADITIONS
Background on each family name and its spelling variations came from the Meertens
Institute in the Netherlands. They have also published "Die Reportorium van
Familienamen" based upon a detailed study of the 1947 census of the Netherlands. Their

The spelling variations of the family names were copied from the family records located in
several different Netherlands archives.
