a servant came and let him out. He was sent straight to bed without
anything to eat. However, young Willem had friends in the household.
First, the cook secretly brought Willem a plate of food. Then a servant
brought a plate of food. And his mother brought a plate of food. Each
time someone came, Willem hid the food he had received, only to find
himself presented with even more food! What started out to be a very
long and hungry night, turned into a veritable feast!
Willem was always ready to change things he did not like, and he vowed
that if he ever had children, he would do things differently. Years later,
he had his family eat together, and the children could talk as much as
they wanted, and no one would be forced to eat food they did not like.
