                                                                                 Pastor Scholte, founder of
                                                                                 Pella, built this fine home
                                                                                 in 1850.  He hoped to
                                                                                 make his wife Mareah feel
                                                                                 comfortable in the Iowa

             Dr. Roelofz was the
             colony’s first medical
             doctor.  He built this
             brick home in 1848.
             This photo was made
             just before demolition
             in 1934.  A replica
             stands in the modern
             Pella Historical

                                                                             also known as the childhood
                                                                             home of Wyatt Earp.  This 1979
